What is Counselling?

Life can bring lots of experiences with it and sometimes those can build up to make things feel pretty overwhelming. Counselling gives you a space to talk through those experiences, the thoughts & feelings you have around them so that you can move forward to the future you want to live.

As a counsellor, I can’t give you all the answers or solutions - and I certainly don’t have a magic wand. But what I can offer you is a space where there is only acceptance, there is no judgment; a space where you can take a pause, step back and breathe. Then, together, we can try and untangle those thoughts, feelings and behaviours that you want to understand, let go of or change.

What can I expect?

Once we’ve had a free, quick, initial chat to see if we would work well together, we’ll book some sessions in for a time and day that would work for you. Then…well, we look at what’s holding you back when you want to move forward, or whatever you feel you’re carrying which you just can’t manage alone anymore.

Together we’ll create and build a space which feels safe for you to identify and explore whatever you need to. We’ll work at your pace, and at a depth you feel comfortable with. I’m here to help you shine a light on the things in your life or about yourself that you want to change, or to work towards having the relationships you want to have.

We (and this includes you!) all deserve to be happy, and to live as the best version of ourselves that we want the world to see. We deserve to move on from experiences that have hurt us, and to change the behaviours that we aren’t okay with, or that may be causing difficulties in our lives & relationships. Counselling can help you to figure out what’s standing in your way of the future you want, or of letting go of the past you no longer need to carry around with you.
